Mini Medical School graduates first cohort
The UAB Department of Pediatrics Mini Medical School started in the spring of 2022 to provide a longitudinal series of virtual and in-person experiences to increase middle school students’ awareness of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers, both in general and in medicine. An additional goal of the program is to increase the pipeline for those who have traditionally been under-represented in medicine (URiM).

2022 Russell Cunningham Scholarship recipients

Two students are selected and will work with faculty mentors from the Department of Pediatrics. This program was established by Dr. Sergio Stagno, Chair Emeritus of the UAB Department of Pediatrics, to honor the memory of Dr. Russell Cunningham.

Dr. CaJacob named to Epic Steering Board
Nick CaJacob, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, has been named to the Epic Pediatric Gastroenterology Specialty Steering Board. He will serve a three-year term starting in July 2022.
