Sugantha Krishnan, M.D.

Sugantha Krishnan, M.D.

Sugantha Krishnan, M.D., Assistant Professor in Academic General Pediatrics, earned her medical degree from Sree Gokulam Medical College & Research Foundation in Kerala, India. Dr. Krishnan completed her pediatric residency at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. Prior to joining UAB, she worked as a general pediatrician in Decatur, AL. Her clinical interests include: breastfeeding, early infant care, toddler nutrition, early childhood cognitive development & young family dynamics.

Diana Montoya Melo, M.D.

Diana Montoya Melo, M.D.

Diana Montoya Melo, M.D., Assistant Professor in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, earned her medical degree at Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia. Dr. Montoya Melo completed her pediatric residency at the University of Miami in Miami, FL and completed her pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. Her clinical interests include eosinophilic esophagitis and eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders.

Sheetal Phadnis, M.D.

Sheetal Phadnis, M.D., Instructor in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, earned her medical degree from Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Medical College in Pune, India. Dr. Phadnis completed her pediatric residency at the University of Miami in Miami, FL. She completed her pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship and research fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX and completed her pediatric neuro-oncology fellowship at NYU Langone Hospitals in New York, NY. Her clinical and research interests include novel therapies in the treatment of pediatric brain tumors including targeted therapies, oncolytic virus therapy and stem cell transplantation.
