Hope Wilson HeadshotWEBHope Wilson, M.D., Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, has been selected to participate in the 2020 Class of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) Clinical Research Training Institute (CRTI). A prestigious honor, the institute is year-long education and mentoring program for hematology fellows and junior faculty.

This unique program offers broad teachings on clinical research methods, research collaborations, statistical analysis, and managing the demands of family and career. The goal of the program is to create leaders who are equipped with the tools and resources to make their clinical hematology research ideas a reality.

Dr. Wilson's research is entitled: “Evaluation of the Use of Secondary Thromboprophylaxis in Children with Venous Thromboembolism with Persistent Prothrombotic Risk Factors: An International Cohort Study Through the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis”. There is a lack of pediatric evidence to guide physicians' treatment decisions regarding long term anticoagulation in children, therefore, pediatric providers are often left to extrapolate from adult literature. Dr. Wilson's research will help address this significant knowledge gap.
