Residents partake in a wide range of lectures and educational activities combined with inpatient and outpatient clinical rotations structured to promote advancing responsibility in training and autonomy. The UAB Heersink School of Medicine is nationally recognized for postdoctoral education, training, research, and professional development opportunities. There are more than 1,200 residents, fellows, and postdoctoral trainees active within the SOM’s departments and branch campuses across the state.
