Good leadership is key to any organization, and UAB is no exception. UAB’s Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation is proud to announce that Administrative Director Tracy Brewer joins the FALL 2023 cohort of the UAB Medicine Institute for Leadership.

UAB Medicine’s Institute for Leadership is a development program designed to enhance existing personal, managerial, and leadership capabilities. The program represents an intentional investment to foster excellence in critical competencies and to promote the ongoing success of UAB Medicine.

“The opportunity to participate in the Institute for Leadership allows me to explore my strengths and areas for growth as a leader,” says Tracy Brewer. “I look forward to expanding my skill set and building strategies for success.”

At UAB, investing in professional growth and development is critical to its mission and identity. This intense leadership development program is a commitment to that investment in leaders across UAB Medicine. Guest speakers from executive-level leadership positions share their own expertise with each cohort. Cohorts will also practice team-building strategies and, together, explore topics of proficiency, coaching, mentoring, and more.

The Institute, piloted in 2019, is administered twice a year to 16 managers per cohort. Candidates are nominated by senior-level leaders, past successes, and their potential for growth.
