The UAB Heersink School of Medicine Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency Training Program welcomed four new PGY1 residents in June.
The incoming PM&R residents are Cyrus Byramji, M.D. (UAB Heersink School of Medicine), Hannah Howard, M.D. (University of Kentucky College of Medicine), Meaghan White, M.D. (Florida State University College of Medicine), and Christopher Truong, M.D. (UAB Heersink School of Medicine).
This incoming class will be the second group of residents to participate in a 4-year categorical residency program within PM&R. This program is expanding musculoskeletal (MSK) training to include new rotation experiences with sports, pain, and in addition to a new MSK curriculum and sports event coverage opportunities.
PM&R Vice Chair of Education and Residency Program Director Dale Colorado, D.O., MPH is excited about the direction and growth of the program, “We are so thrilled to welcome Cyrus, Hannah, Meaghan, and Chris to the UAB PM&R family! We cannot wait for them to begin their PM&R journey with us this summer. A big thank you to everyone who has been involved with our residency recruitment! We appreciate your dedication and commitment to training our future PM&R leaders.”
PM&R’s residency program ranks in the top twenty-five by reputation in Doximity’s Residency Navigator.
The department looks forward to the growing opportunities in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and supporting the development for the full 48-month PGY1-PGY4 PM&R residency program at UAB.
