Following a busy interview season, the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) is excited to welcome four new PGY 1 residents. The incoming PM&R residents are Hannah Ferry (Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine) David Salchert (University of South Alabama College of Medicine), Jason Sanchez (University of Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine), and Jonathan Wilson (Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine).

This incoming class will be the third group of residents to participate in a 4-year categorical residency program within UAB PM&R. Previous residents completed their intern year in a different program before joining UAB.

Vice Chair of Education and Residency Program Director Dale Colorado, D.O. is excited about the direction and growth of the program, “We are so thrilled to welcome Hannah, David, Jason, and Jonathan to the UAB PM&R family! We cannot wait for them to begin their PM&R journey with us this summer. A big thank you to everyone who has been involved with our residency recruitment! We appreciate your dedication and commitment to training our future PM&R leaders.”

The department looks forward to begin training our new residents in July.
