More than 1,200 interns, residents and fellows train in every medical specialty at UAB in Birmingham, at our regional campuses in Montgomery, Huntsville and Tuscaloosa, and in our program in Selma.

In an ongoing series, the Department of Surgery will feature incoming and outgoing trainees for all UAB Surgery programs. This time, learn about the Division of Acute Care Surgery’s Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship, its four new trainees and its two recent graduates.

Hello:

This year, the Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program gains four new fellows: Morgan Collum, D.O., Thomas Cox, D.O., Timothy Stevens, M.D., and Kevin Tyler, M.D.

Collum and Cox join UAB from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, while Stevens and Tyler come to the program from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and the Medical University of South Carolina, respectively.

Goodbye:

Jonathan Black, M.D., and Brittany Warren, M.D., graduated from the Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship this year. Black remains at UAB where he now serves as an assistant professor in the Division of Acute Care Surgery, while Warren has since returned to Florida to practice at Orlando Health where she completed her general surgery residency training prior to coming to UAB.
