Surgery Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) students, mentored by UAB Surgery faculty, recently won awards at the UAB Summer Expo in the live oral presentation category.
ThreeSURE provides promising undergraduate students who are interested in a medical career with research experience and knowledge that increases their competitiveness for admission to medical school and encourages them to consider careers in academic medicine, particularly the field of surgery.
The SURE program is led by Program Co-Directors Karin Hardiman, M.D., Ph.D., and Rachael Lancaster, M.D., FACS.
The UAB Expo celebrates excellence in research, creative activity, and scholarship by showcasing the academic endeavors of undergraduate students. This year, the summer expo was virtual and was held from July 26-30.
