The UAB Department of Surgery is proud to announce that Abhishek Parmar, M.D., has been selected to serve as the department’s wellness champion.

In his role, Parmar will be responsible for promoting and supporting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of faculty, staff, and learners across the department.

As wellness champion, he will play a critical part in enhancing the Department of Surgery’s overall culture of wellness, with the ultimate goal of contributing to improved job satisfaction, work-life integration, and the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Rachel Lancaster, M.D., has also been selected to serve as associate wellness champion, and Kaycee Hair, MA, will continue in her role as staff wellness champion.
