UAB Division of Surgical Oncology Assistant Professor Sarah B. Bateni, M.D., MSW, MAS, has been selected to serve on the UAB Department of Surgery’s Grand Rounds Committee.
Bateni will join Andrea Gillis, M.D., MSPH, and Committee Co-Lead Danielle Sutzko, M.D., M.S., to organize and facilitate all details related to the weekly seminar series.
Bateni became a member of the UAB Department of Surgery faculty in 2022. She treats skin and soft tissue malignancies including melanoma and Merkel cell carcinoma, among others. She is a health services and outcomes researcher with a focus on clinical and patient-reported outcomes in patients with advanced cancer.
“It’s truly an honor to work with this talented group and to facilitate the training opportunities that help shape our department,” says Bateni. “I’m looking forward to scheduling speakers and content that benefit the professional growth of our staff, trainees, and faculty and meeting the outstanding speaker.”
About UAB Surgical Grand Rounds
The UAB Department of Surgery’s Grand Round lectures are hosted weekly on Tuesday mornings in Margaret Cameron Spain Auditorium. All lectures are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Currently, the Department hosts over 20+ endowed lectureships each year.
