UAB Division of Breast and Endocrine Surgery Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Patient Experience Catherine Parker, M.D., has been selected as the clinical documentation improvement (CDI) surgery physician advisor for the Quality, Patient Safety, and Clinical Operations program at UAB Medicine.
Parker is a breast surgical oncologist and actively conducts research on breast cancer prevention in collaboration with the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB. She joined UAB as a faculty member in 2014.
In her role as CDI surgery physician advisor, Parker will serve as a liaison to increase physician engagement and communication, respond to inquiries, enhance medical education activities, and improve the quality of clinical documentation.
The CDI surgery physician advisor plays a crucial role in the Quality, Patient Safety, and Clinical Operations program at UAB Medicine. This program is dedicated to ensuring workflow efficiency and quality improvement to provide excellent patient care.
