Biography
Dr. Parker is a fellowship trained breast surgical oncologist with primary research interests in prevention and risk assessment of breast cancer, as well as breast cancer tumor biology and impact on treatment outcomes. She is an associate scientist with the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB and the Minority Health and Research Center.
Dr. Parker received her M.D. degree from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in 2008. She completed a residency in General Surgery also at the Louisiana State University in 2013. After surgical residency, she completed a Fellowship in Breast Surgery at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Since entering academic practice in July 2014, she has been actively involved in the education of medical students and residents on a daily basis.
