Biography

Dr. Brad David Denney is a double board-certified Birmingham plastic surgeon specializing in complex wound care, hand surgery, breast and abdominal wall reconstruction, and cosmetic surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, as well as a member of the American Society of Plastics Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.

Dr. Denney is a native of Birmingham and graduated from the University of Georgia Summa Cum Laude with Honors. He then matriculated to the University of Alabama at Birmingham for medical school. Dr. Denney completed a five-year residency in general surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, focusing on breast and cancer surgery, vascular surgery and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) techniques. After serving as chief resident, he then went on to complete a dynamic fellowship in plastic surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he received excellent operative training with broad exposure to complex reconstruction and advanced cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Denney was appointed Assistant Professor of Surgery for the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2016. He maintains a keen interest in clinical research in order to advance understanding of surgical disease. Dr. Denney lectures to regional hospitals on his expertise in breast reconstruction. He has also provided valuable patient education through television interviews and podcasts. In addition, Dr. Denney has published scientific studies in national surgical journals and has presented at regional, national and international meetings.
