Biography
Dr. John H. Grant III joined the UAB Department of Surgery’s Division of Plastic Surgery in 1997. He currently serves as the James C. Lee, III Chair in Pediatric Plastic Surgery at Children’s of Alabama, as well as a Professor of Surgery at UAB.
Dr. Grant’s major research interests are in the fields of cleft and craniofacial outcomes research, and craniofacial trauma. The outcomes research interest is related to the etiology and treatment outcomes of congenital facial differences. The craniofacial trauma research interest is in the area of biomechanics and wound healing.
His teaching activities have included teaching plastic surgery techniques and principles to plastic surgery residents, general surgery residents, medical students and SA students. He also has co-designed and implemented an Oral Board Review Course. He also lectures for universities and societies both nationally and internationally.
