Birmingham is a young, vibrant, up-and-coming city that is close to my family and friends. The food scene is excellent for mid-size city. There is ample opportunity to live how you want-whether that's a loft downtown or house in the suburbs. Plenty of things to do without being oversaturated.

Growing up nearby, I was always aware of UAB's reputation for clinical complexity and research prowess. Now that I'm here, I’ve confirmed that reputation for myself and have realized the importance of these factors when deciding where to train. The network of clinicians provided to urology trainees at UAB and the breadth and depth of urologic care ensures that you will be able to pursue a career in whatever you desire upon completion of your training.

I am passionate about medical anthropology and implementation science; examining the non-biological factors that shape health and systematic introduction of interventions into policy and practice. Currently, I am on a plant-based diet, but I love extra spicy Pho, Tacos, and Boba Tea. My hobbies include tree planting, hiking, camping, Muay Thai kickboxing, kayaking, and anything that involves being on the water but not in it (but I do know how to swim).

UAB serves a wide array of patients. Each time I am given the opportunity to interact with someone with a different background than mine, it adds to my knowledge base and values.

You are simply not going to find better Urology co-residents than at UAB. This work hard-play hard department ensures you walk away with exemplary surgical skills as well as with many fond memories. That paired with the opportunity to work with residents from other esteemed departments creates a truly wonderful experience
