Research
Alysha’s research interests include fetal, infant and maternal health. She is particularly interested in intergenerational health disparities and understanding how fetal development influences long term risk for disease. During her doctoral training, Alysha will be investigating whether leptin resistance contributes to obesity among children born to women with obesity, with or without gestational diabetes. To address her research questions, she will be using a combination of animal and human models.
