Bertha Hidalgo, Ph.D., MPH, assistant professor in the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health’s Department of Epidemiology, was recognized with the Early Career Achievement Award at the 2019 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation New Connections capstone symposium.
The award is given to early career scholars — those who received their doctorate within the past 10 years — for outstanding contributions to their field.
Hidalgo was recently appointed to two national boards: the Board of External Experts at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute and the Board of the American College of Epidemiology. She is also an associate scientist in the UAB Nutrition Obesity Research Center.
