This is a six-week program intended to provide intense mentorship for research proposal development and guidance from a UAB SON faculty member. This program can be in person or virtual, with eligibility for international PhD students, Post-doctoral fellows and faculty.

Selection Criteria
  • Alignment of focus area with UAB's School of Nursing strategic priorities.
  • Availability of a faculty mentor.
  • Education requirements (minimum master’s level, preferably doctorate, in nursing).
  • English proficiency
  • Eligible candidates should be outside the United States and have specific objectives and deliverables as part of their application.

A detailed work plan will be developed, in conjunction with a mentor and other resource faculty, following acceptance into the program.

Cost/Other Requirements

  • $4,000 program fees, includes 6-week intensive mentorship with one UAB faculty.
  • If the scholar wishes to travel to UAB:
    • A U.S. J-1 category visa is required.
    • Airfare, lodging, meals and health insurance are the responsibility of the scholar

Note: If accepted and you wish to attend in person, our Program Manager will provide you with details about applicable international travel requirements.
