This is a distance-accessible, semester-long program which includes enrollment in a selected PhD level course and mentoring from two UAB faculty and is eligible for both international PhD students and non-PhD holding faculty.

Selection Criteria
  • Availability of a faculty mentor.
  • Alignment of focus area with UAB SON strategic priorities.
  • Eligible candidates should be outside the United States and have specific objectives and deliverables as part of their application.
  • Education requirements (minimum master’s level, and/or enrollment in doctorate nursing program).
  • English Proficiency: TOEFL or IELTS or Duolingo scores, or Certificate of English from an accredited course.

A detailed work plan will be developed, in conjunction with a mentor and other resource faculty, following acceptance into the program.

Cost/Other Requirements

  • $9,000 USD which includes tuition for a 3-credit hour non-degree-seeking PhD level course and mentoring from 2 UAB faculty
  • There is no visa required, no travel and no cost-of-living expenses
