Nursing's Harper named to VA Special Medical Advisory Group
Doreen C. Harper, Ph.D., dean of the UAB School of Nursing, has been appointed to the Department of Veterans Affairs Special Medical Advisory Group, which advises on the care and treatment of veterans and other matters. UAB has played a prominent role in aiding veterans through care and opportunity during Harper’s tenure.

Apply by May 30 for a fellowship to promote service-learning
UAB's Faculty Fellows in Engaged Scholarship program is open to all faculty involved in undergraduate teaching, with priority given to courses taught by faculty who are new or marginally experienced with service-learning. The workshops explore theories, implementation and assessment of academic service-learning and ways to integrate this into courses across the disciplines.
