With fall semester already in high gear, here is a quick refresher on all that the UAB Career Center offers to support students on their career journeys.
1. Career Advising Appointments
Students can quickly request Career Advising Appointments through the Handshake platform. The Career Center offers a wide range of appointment types, from resume reviews to mock interviews, available both in-person and virtually. Students can also drop in for assistance.
2. Career workshops
Faculty and staff can request tailored career-related workshops or employer panels. The Career Center team covers topics such as resumes, interviews and professional branding and can customize sessions to meet specific academic needs. Request a workshop online.
3. Canvas course modules
The Career Center has designed 10 Career Canvas Course Modules that seamlessly integrate into academic courses. These modules cover an array of career readiness and professional development topics, offering students valuable resources directly within their existing courses. If you want to integrate these modules, please submit your request here.
4. Jobs and internships
Using Handshake, students (and alums) can apply for part-time and full-time jobs and internships, connect with employers and register for upcoming career-related events.
