The 400 scientists and researchers at the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB have a big goal: use a deep understanding of the biology of cancer to discover new therapies and provide patients with the best treatments not just in the state, but across the nation and around the world.
To support them in that quest, join the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center March 9 on the Campus Green for the second annual Lace Up for a Cure, a 5K all-ages walk to bring together individuals who have, in some way, been affected by cancer and raise awareness of and education about services offered at the center. Approximately 250 walkers participated this past year.
Pre-registration cost is $10 through Feb. 8 and $15 Feb. 9-March 8; event day registration and sign-in is $20 and runs 7:30-8:15 a.m. |
