  • Limited Submission Opportunities Overview
Limited submission opportunities are funding programs where the sponsoring agency restricts the number of proposals an institution can submit. These opportunities often come from federal agencies, foundations, and private corporations. To ensure compliance and maximize the chances of success, UABs Research Development Office (RDO) coordinates an internal selection process.

    Why are limited submissions important?
    • Maximize Funding Potential: By carefully selecting the most competitive proposals, we enhance our chances of securing funding.
    • Ensure Compliance: Adhering to submission limits prevents disqualification of all proposals from UAB.
    • Promote Collaboration: Encourages faculty to collaborate and consolidate efforts for stronger proposals.
    How does the process work?
    1. Notification: Researchers notify the RDO when they have identified a potential limited submission funding opportunity.
    2. Internal Application: The RDO creates an internal competition using InfoReady, and interested researchers submit internal applications for review.
    3. Selection: A committee reviews and selects the most competitive proposals.
    4. Submission: Selected proposals are submitted to the sponsoring agency.
