Akanksha Singh, assistant professor, was awarded a UAB internal pilot grant on the evaluation of client outcomes and net impacts of a peer support system for opioid recovery by the UAB Center for Addiction, Pain Prevention, and Intervention (CAPPI).

Dr. Singh joined the HSA faculty this past Fall following the completion of her doctorate at University of South Carolina. Her research interests include Health IT Systems design, human-computer interaction, human factors and human-centered design, data analytics and applied AI techniques in Health IT.

The core of her research interests lies in understanding the information exchange that happens between people and technologies that govern their decisions in context and designing technology to aid those decisions by providing the most relevant information elements in an easily consumable format.
