Things You Should Have
Here are several things you should have before you begin work. Please contact Allison Estep (see above) if you need assistance.
- Blazer ID: your unique user name allows you to access numerous UAB services.
- ONE Card: your ID badge is required for parking, door entry, and more.
- HIPAA Training: anyone with the potential to access protected health information (PHI).
- FERPA Training: anyone with the potential to work with student records.
- UAB Benefits: summaries of medical, dental, vision, and other benefits offered to UAB employees.
- TRS Retirement: The Teachers' Retirement System (TRS) is a defined benefit plan for eligible UAB employees.
- Parking Pass: the 9th Avenue Parking Deck (map) is for SHP employees who purchase a parking permit.

Who We Are
Click to Watch the SHP TourWe are home to five departments - Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences (CDS), Health Services Administration (HSA), Nutrition Sciences (NS), Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physical Therapy (PT).
We have classrooms, laboratories and offices primarily in three buildings - the Learning Resource Center (LRC), the School of Health Professions Building (SHPB) and the Susan Mott Webb Nutrition Sciences Building (WEBB).
And we are home to the UAB/Lakeshore Research Collaborative - a world-class research program in rehabilitative science established in 2009.
