Preceptors

Did you know Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) can earn CPEUs simply for being a preceptor? You can also earn additional CPEUs for participating in preceptor trainings.

CPEUs for Preceptor Teaching

RDN preceptors of ACEND-accredited programs can record up to 3 CPEUs per year and 15 CPEUs per five-year recertification cycle for serving as a preceptor. Please refer to the Commission on Dietetic Registration website for more information. Contact UAB's Dietetics Practice Coordinator with your completed Preceptor Confirmation & Self-Reflection Form for verification and signature.

CPEUs for Preceptor Training

RDNs can earn EIGHT (8) CPEUs through the Accreditation Council on Education in Nutrition and Dietetics' (ACEND's) Dietetics Preceptor Training Program. To learn more, visit the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' website.
