Welcome to the B.S. in Biobehavioral Nutrition and Wellness at the University of Alabama at Birmingham! We go beyond 'you are what you eat' and students dive deep into the relationship between human health, mindfulness, nutrition, metabolism and food as medicine.
We are a student-focused program that works to prepare our graduates to directly address community health at multiple levels upon graduation. Students are also well prepared to apply to graduate programs in nutrition sciences and other related health care fields such as UAB’s Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, PhD in Nutrition Sciences, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant, public health and medical school.
Why Biobehavioral Nutrition and Wellness Major
In addition to being well prepared to apply to graduate or professional school, graduates of this unique program can seek work in both public and private sectors in areas including universities, nutrition and healthcare providers/educators, insurance agencies, hospitals, food and nutrition providers, and public health and fitness organizations.
