Don Lein earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and his master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is presently working on his Ph.D. in health education and promotion in UAB’s School of Public Health.

Don is an outpatient physical therapist in the UAB Spain Rehabilitation Center. Together with Beth Kitchin, he has developed the popular Tone Your Bones osteoporosis education class, the Tone Your Bones Osteoporosis Nutrition and Exercise program, and the weekly Tone Your Bones exercise class.

Don has received many awards, including the UAB Circle of Excellence Award for Patient Care in 1993 and the UAB Care Award of Excellence in 2001. Don is a talented soccer player and coaches his son’s soccer team. Don enjoys soccer, drawing, painting, and gardening.
