Hampton joined UAB in June 2010 after spending 14 years with the Kellogg Sales Co. Hampton was the first female African-American retail team leader in the nation and won numerous national sales awards while with the company.
“It was cool to have Tony the Tiger as a boss!” Hampton said.
Hampton earned her bachelor’s in marketing from Jacksonville State University and her MBA from the University of North Alabama. She is a member of the Alabama Association of Colleges and Employers (AACE), the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SoAce) and the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), has presented at both AACE and SoACE conferences and has been a panelist for discussions on skills employers look for in potential hires.
When Hampton isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family; for the past two years, she has worked tirelessly to help her husband, Chad, who suffers from kidney disease, become a transplant candidate. Chad is currently on the waitlist at UAB, Vanderbilt University and Ole Miss.
“It’s been stressful to see someone I love go through this,” Hampton said.
