The Basics

When: Saturday, September 7 | 6:30 – 10 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.)

Where: UAB Bartow Arena

General information

  • Every concert attendee (current UAB students, faculty, and staff) needs a ticket.
  • Tickets are general admission
  • Lost or misplaced tickets will not be replaced.
  • Re-entry is not allowed.
  • The Welcome Back Concert is an indoor event. In the event of any unforeseeable event, the concert will be rescheduled to a later date. Concert attendees will be notified, via email no later than 48 hours prior to the event date.

Parking

  • Parking will be as normal.
  • Accessible parking is first-come first-serve available along 13th & 14th Street. A state issued hang tag or license plate is required for parking. Drop off area is located on 14th Street and 7th Ave, South.

Concert Venue

  • The Welcome Back Concert will take place at Bartow Arena. The entrance gate is located on the south end of the arena between 13th St. S and 14th St. S near 7th Ave.
  • The gates open at 5:30 p.m.
  • Accessible seating is available for those both in wheelchairs and those who have difficulty walking. Please see the security personnel for assistance.
  • Bartow Arena is a smoke free facility.
  • The Welcome Back Concert will enforce a clear-bag policy. Bags must be clear plastic and no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches or a small clutch bag that is smaller than 5 inches by 7 inches.
  • Concession stands are located at the concourse level.  There are two located on each side of Bartow.  Stands are open based on crowd size and availability.  Concession stands are all cashless.
  • Animals are not permitted inside Bartow Arena with the exception of approved service animals.

  • What type of tickets are available?

    General Admission tickets are available for UAB students receive 1 free ticket with valid ONE Card and can purchase 1 additional ticket for $15 and UAB employees can purchase up to 2 tickets for $25 each with valid ONE Card.

  • What should I bring to the concert?

    • Your UAB ONE Card to present upon entry into the venue.

  • What items are prohibited?

    The following items are prohibited:

    • Outside food
    • Artificial noise makers
    • Weapons of any kind
    • Video cameras and cameras with lenses over 4”
    • Selfie sticks or monopoles
    • Pets
    • Umbrellas
    • Hoverboards
    • Remote controlled drones or devices
    • Tobacco products of any kind
    • Cigarettes or E-Cigarettes
    • Illegal drugs
    • Alcoholic beverages
    • Flags and banners
    • Any other item deemed dangerous or inappropriate by staff

  • I need to make copies of something. How/where can I do that?

    The Sterne Library has copying facilities, plus there are numerous ePrint devices located around campus for cloud-based printing (see uab.edu/eprint for locations). You can use your Blazer Bucks to pay for copies.


Entry Conditions for Guests

The following conditions are for guests entering the venue:

  • All guests and their belongings will be searched. Attendees will go through the following security measures:
    • Bag check
  • Any prohibited item that is surrendered to security at search points will not be returned.
  • Allowed and prohibited lists are subject to change.
  • No unauthorized / unlicensed vendors allowed in or around the venue.
  • Security personnel at the entrances reserve the right to make the final decision on allowed and non-allowed items.


Lost and Found

Lost and Found is located at the Athletics Ticket Office.  If you lost something during an event, please call 205-975-8221. Be sure to include the type, brand, color, and any additional info you can provide to identify them.


Info, medical and first aid station

UAB makes every effort to create a safe environment at the Welcome Back Concert. To ensure this, security and medical staff will work throughout the event. If you’re experiencing any problems whatsoever, locate a concert staff member, security guard, or police officer. If you need medical assistance, seek out the on-site medical services on the 6th Ave. South side of the concourse, or look for a police officer or UAB staff member.
