Academic Engagement
Explore ways to kick off your academic journey!
- Visit one of many academic resource centers on campus (VMASC, Writing Center, Math Lab, tutoring, etc.)
- Participate in a VMASC workshop.
- Login to Engage to browse the academic and professional student organizations and events.
- Make an appointment with an exploratory advisor, career counselor, or pre-health advisor to explore major career goals.

Campus Connections
Get acquainted with campus and the city!
- Complete the Blaze Your Way involvement survey to receive recommendations on which organizations and campus experiences align with your interests.
- Connect with other students who live off-campus by visiting the off-campus student lounge.
- Login to Engage and explore the organization and event directory. Make sure to download your event pass for easy (and free) access to student events.
- Follow campus departments and student organizations on Instagram to keep up with their events and activities (@getinvolveduab, @uab_pathfinders, and @uabstudents are great accounts to follow!)
- Check out the lists of Things Every Blazers Should Do and Events Every Blazer Should Attend.

- Visit UAB OneStop to take advantage of discounted tickets for popular Birmingham attractions.
- Explore local attractions like Vulcan Park to learn more about the history of Birmingham.
- Connect with the Office of First Year Experience to learn about UAB’s resources and opportunities for new Blazers!

- Login to BlazerPulse and edit your profile to include causes you most care about and skills you can apply through volunteerism.
- Register for a volunteer opportunity.
- Donate unused food and hygiene items to Blazer Kitchen.
