Disconnecting from your everyday stressors and reconnecting with the world around you can lead to some really positive impacts on your overall well-being. Now maybe more than ever!
These days, everything is fast-paced and mostly indoors, which can become overwhelming and stressful quickly. It is easy to get caught up with the next task or decide to wind down in front of a TV but taking the time to go outside can impact you positively and the scientific research overwhelmingly supports this.
Nature is a wonderful way to escape from our day to day lives while also decreasing anxiety and bad moods. When we disconnect from technology it allows us to reconnect with ourselves and engage with each other and the world around us. There are so many options to get out in nature like playing in a park, taking a stroll down the sidewalk, or even hiking in a forest. Taking those literal steps outside helps us take the right steps to positively impact our well-being!
University Recreation's Outdoor Pursuits provides the perfect opportunity to get outdoors and explore the world. There is an array of virtual programming that can gear you to a great outdoor experience from our Blaze Craze Scavenger Hunt and our virtual campfire talk. Stay tuned to more virtual Outdoor Pursuits programming!
