Taffy Trot Virtual 5K

URec and Sugar Inc. have partnered up to bring you the Taffy Trot Virtual 5K in celebration of National Taffy Day! This virtual 5K will bring you fun in the sun AND A 
BAG OF SALTWATER TAFFY from Sugar Inc. Who knew running could be so delicious?
All you have to do is complete your 5K, post your results, then stop by Sugar Inc. and share your triumph to pick up your saltwater taffy. (More instructions below)
In the words of the hip-hop group D4L it is time to “shake that laffy taffy!” Get up, get out, and do not forget to brush your teeth!
What is a virtual race?
A virtual race is one that can be run or walked from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on a trail, on a treadmill, on a track, or around your quarantined living room! This is your own race, at your own pace, at whatever time you decide.
Pick your route or favorite treadmill. The route needs to be the 5k distance, or 3.1 miles. Once that is settled, you will run, jog, or walk the distance. Make sure to track the distance and time yourself!

Share your results on social media.
Take a selfie during your race and share it with your friends and us! Use the #TaffyTrot and tag @UABURec and @sugarcrestline.
You can also include your photos in your results submission and we will share your awesomeness through our social media outlets too!
How do you win?
When there is candy involved, everybody is a winner! We are all here to celebrate each other’s victories together. So, forget about “winning” and lift somebody up by striving for your best and celebrating somebody else’s.

Sugar Inc. is here to take the Taffy Trot 5K from drab to FAB! While supplies last, Sugar Inc. will be giving participants who completed and posted about their triumph over the 5K a bag of saltwater taffy. Post your results on social media using the instructions above and show that to the Sugar Inc. staff. They will confirm that you completed the event and you will get your bag of taffy!
*Taffy must be picked up during regular business hours between May 23-30.
