Shaina graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Art Studio. She was a part of the first ever cohort of the UABTeach program. After completing undergrad, she continued her work in the sports entertainment industry. Shaina spent several years working for Topgolf, where she played a vital role in operations and the event sales department. During that time, she trained, mentored, and onboarded new associates into different roles as they joined the company. Shaina returned to UABTeach in Fall 2022 and serves as the UABTeach Grant Coordinator. Here she oversees the Alabama Rural Learning Accelerator (ARLA) Project by coordinating interns, managing the ARLA suite, and conducting Power Hour with partner schools.

When she isn’t working, you can find her exploring the world one country at a time or home with her beautiful German Shepherd Pit, Tabitha!
