Computing is fundamental for the analysis of the complex datasets generated by biology and medicine. We work on algorithmic solutions for understanding such data. This work includes clinical information extraction, shape modeling, image/video processing, modeling of the optic nerve head, and scientific visualization.

The biomedical computing research field is naturally interdisciplinary, and we have collaborators in the School of Medicine and the Informatics Institute. The research in this cluster is funded by agencies including NSF and NIH.
