UAB breaks ground on new Arts and Sciences Building
University of Alabama at Birmingham leaders broke ground on a new 160,000-square-foot Arts and Sciences Building today that is expected to open fall 2019. The new $39.5 million project is located on the corner of 10th Avenue South and 14th Street South.

UAB leads $20 million statewide grant to improve understanding of plasma processes and interactions
A five-year, $20 million award from the National Science Foundation will help universities across Alabama, including the University of Alabama at Birmingham, collaborate to better understand interactions of a key matter that could translate into the development of new technologies in areas ranging from food safety and aerospace to medicine.
