Dr. Kana’s research expertise is in the area of old age and psychological well-being. She has gained extensive research experience at the postdoctoral level at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and in the Department of Medicine at UAB, before joining as an assistant professor in the UAB Department of Psychology. Her research, of late, has focused on mild cognitive impairment, cognitive function, and cerebrovascular risk factors and aging. Dr. Kana also has a background in Counseling Psychology, and she is interested in topics related to positive psychology and aging. She has been teaching a variety of undergraduate courses in the Department of Psychology at UAB.
