Po-Hsu Chen, D.D.S., M.S., M.P.H., has been named the inaugural Dr. A.M. Christopher, Jr. Endowed Faculty Scholar in the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Dentistry.
Having joined UAB in 2020, Chen is an assistant professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences. He completed a fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics and holds a certificate in Prosthodontics.
“Dr. Chen is an exceptional role model with an unwavering commitment to dental education. He inspires those around him to reach their full potential,” says department chair Chin-Chuan Fu, D.D.S., M.S.
Chen is an associate scientist in the Center for Clinical and Translational Science. His research interests include prosthodontics, maxillofacial prosthetics, dental materials, digital dentistry, and public health dentistry.
Endowments are long-term investments in UAB, held in perpetuity, that provide scholarships, support funds, and other benefits to students and faculty year after year. Established in 2021, the Christopher endowment supports the research, scholarly, and/or clinical efforts of a distinguished faculty member within the School of Dentistry.
