Ann Marie Karaki, Director of the Continuing Dental Education program for the UAB School of Dentistry was elected Vice President of the Association for Continuing Dental Education on August 8, 2023 at the ACDE annual session in New Orleans, LA.

The ACDE is the organization of continuing dental education providers associated with dental schools in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. The ACDE was founded in 1991 when two regional associations merged to provide a single forum for cooperation, collaboration and mutual support among directors of university based CDE programs. The goal of the ACDE is to encourage and advance professional interest in Continuing Dental Education, promote lifelong learning for dental professionals and to assure high standards in Continuing Dental Education courses offered by schools of dentistry, and thus foster the improvement of the dental health of the public.
