Lynne Jarreau, director of communications for the School of Dentistry, is 1 of 4 chosen as the fourth-quarter 2023 honorees for the UAB Shared Values in Action Program.
The UAB VIP Award recognizes employees whose work has exemplified and embodied one or more of the UAB Shared Values - integrity, stewardship, collaboration, accountability, respect, and excellence and achievement. Honorees are nominated by their colleagues and selected by a committee of individuals from across the campus and UAB Hospital. VIP honorees have made a lasting impact on the fabric and culture of UAB by exemplifying the university’s shared values.
Jarreau is known for her innovation and integrity.
Ann Marie Karaki, Director of Continuing Dental Education, said, "Lynne has been such an important part of the SOD for the last decade. She was the driving force in the SOD to create our social media presence, update our webpages, and promote our CE activities on campus. She supports the SOD, our faculty, and staff by highlighting their successes in our SOD Newsletter and UAB e-news. Lynne gives voice to our accomplishments and shines a light on our efforts.”
According to Karaki, Jarreau strives for excellence in all she does, including numerous projects they have collaborated on, always providing a unique and creative approach to each collaboration.
Colleagues often turn to Jarreau for guidance and are met with respect and willingness to collaborate.

Jarreau understands that every person at the school plays an integral role in keeping operations running smoothly and successful and works vigorously to promote and champion their activities. She is known for her honesty and transparency with others, keeping the school's success in the forefront of her goals.
