David Wilson, M.B.A., was appointed as a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) site visitor by the American Dental Education Association. Joining several faculty who have been pre- and post-doctoral site visitors, Wilson is the school’s only staff member to serve.

Site visitors support the accreditation process by assisting in the development of accreditation standards and serving on site visit teams for predoctoral, advanced and allied dental education programs. They are appointed for one-year terms, which are renewable for six years.

Wilson’s role on the site visit team centers on reviewing institutional effectiveness, financial operations and facilities resources.

Joining UAB School of Dentistry in 2019 as its Executive Director of Administration and Fiscal Affairs, Wilson manages the school’s budget and fiscal matters, Human Resources, and facilities. He has more than 30 years’ experience in leadership of fiscal and business services in the corporate sector and higher education. He was integral to the school’s predoctoral program accreditation in 2022.

Recognizing the importance of accreditation in maintaining high quality dental education programs, Wilson calls his service a profound responsibility.

“I am honored to join the CODA site visit team. I look forward to interacting with colleagues and experiencing the accreditation process from another perspective,” he says.
