The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is home to an active chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the world’s largest technical professional organization for the advancement of technology. The IEEE student branch is open to undergraduate and graduate students, and gives students opportunities to grow and make connections in the sub-disciplines of electrical and electronics engineering.

Each year, a team of students represents UAB at IEEE regional and national events.
