Deadline to File: April 30
All UAB employees who are required to file a Statement of Economic Interest Form for the last calendar year must do so by April 30.
PENALTY FOR LATE FILING: The Alabama Ethics Commission is imposing and enforcing fines of $10 per day past the April 30 deadline up to $1000, along with potential misdemeanor charges for non-compliance.
SEI Filing Requirements
As a public institution, UAB employees who meet certain criteria are required to complete an annual Statement of Economic Interests. The UAB Office of Human Resources provides the Alabama Ethics Commission with a list of employees who meet one or more of the filing criteria. If you met one or more of the filing criteria below based on your job information during the last calendar year, you are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests:
- Employees whose UAB annual base pay salary totaled $97,000 or more for the last calendar year.
- Employees who were in a UAB position with purchasing or procurement authority to make purchases on UAB’s behalf.
- Employees who were in a supervisory role at UAB as listed in the Oracle HR & Finance System.
- Employees who were the assistant to executive leadership at UAB.

Ways to File
You can file the Statement of Economic Interests Form in one of two ways:
1. File Online
Go to seiform.alabama.gov and selecting the filing year from the dropdown options. Please retain a copy for your records. Step-by-step instructions on how to electronically submit the Statement of Economic Interests Form are available in the HR Connect Portal.
NEW for 2024: Starting this year, an auto-fill option is available when filing the Statement of Economic Interests Form online. If you filed a form last year, you will be able to create an account that will allow you to transfer information from your 2022 form to your 2023 form and make edits as needed.
2. File by Mail
Print and complete the downloadable Statement of Economic Interests Form and mail it on or before April 30 to:
