UAB recognizes the importance of supporting employees as they balance career, home life and personal responsibilities. Employee Assistance

Employee Assistance

UAB employees and members of their immediate household are eligible for up to 15 free, confidential counseling sessions per year with the UAB EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE & COUNSELING CENTER (EACC). Services include individual, couples, family counseling, and more.

Employees also have access to EACC resources and events on a wide range of topics for successful work/life integration, including the CODE BLAZE PARENTING TOOLKITS.

The PREGNANT WORKERS FAIRNESS ACT is a federal law that requires covered employers to provide reasonable accommodations to a qualified worker’s known limitations related to pregnancy, childbirth or a related medical condition, unless the accommodation will cause the employer an undue hardship.

The EACC's HEALTHY AGING ELDERCARE PROGRAM offers UAB employees assistance in finding care for an aging parent or loved one, including no-cost placement assistance, discounted eldercare consulting and more.
