Set up Financial & Employee Information in Oracle
Oracle HR & Finance is a web-based system used by UAB for administrative operations and record keeping. You will set up your direct deposit, complete tax forms, self-identify veteran and disability status, & add emergency contacts in Oracle HR & Finance.
Timing: Recommended for the first day

- To access the system, visit myUAB Portal and choose Oracle HR & Finance from myApps. You will be asked to provide your Blazer ID and strong password.
NOTE: New employees may not have immediate access to Oracle on their first day. If you receive an error message stating that your access is denied, please wait 24-48 hours, and try again. If you continue to have issues, contact your supervisor or HR Service Center.Click the following links for instructions on each required task:\:

Get your ONE Card (ID Badge)
The UAB ONE Card will serve as your formal UAB identification badge, physical security access key, as well as an access card for many other UAB employee services.
Timing: Recommended for the first day
Who: Some departments will fill out this form for new employees. Please first discuss with your supervisor if they have already completed the form. If they have already filled out the form, you will be responsible for visiting a ONE card office to take your photo and pick up your card.
Details: If your department has not already, fill out the ONE card request form, wait for approval, and pick up your card at one of the ONE card locations.

Decide on Transportation Options
View and select parking and other available transportation alternatives.
Timing: Within 7 days of start date
Who: To be completed by you (unless someone in your office has already filled out the form)
Details:
- Review transportation options and rates at uab.edu/transportation
- Before filling out any parking applications, discuss your available options with your supervisor, as available options and contacts vary across campus.
- If you decide to apply for parking, click "Apply for Parking" on the UAB Transportation website, then click the "Parking Permit Application" link. Application for parking can be found here.
- Once you have received a confirmation email, you can visit the UAB Transportation Office to pick up your parking permit.

Complete Required Training in the UAB LMS (Learning Management System)
Timing: Various due dates depending on the training. Specific due dates and completion time frames can be found in the Campus LMS.
Who: To be completed by you.
Details- As a new hire, you will have several required trainings and attestations. Some are generally required of all employees, while others may be more specific to your role and reporting unit. Complete training includes orientation, code of conduct, memorandum of record, and other job-specific training in the Campus LMS (Learning Management System).
- You will receive an email from UAB Campus LMS (campuslms@docebo.uab.edu) regarding any required training(s). You can access training by clicking the email links or logging in at uab.edu/campuslms.
