In recognition of Ms. Tulcin’s leadership in CF advocacy, the University of Alabama Board of Trustees established the D. F. Tulcin Research Award. Selection is made by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, but funded through an endowment established at UAB. This national honorary event highlights the very best in CF research.
Doris Tulcin spent her entire professional career both as volunteer and staff member working toward the universal mission of control and cure for cystic fibrosis. She has undertaken many responsibilities within CFF: National President for three terms; National Campaign Chairman to raise $28 million to support the Research Development Centers Program; serving on the NHLBI Advisory Council at NIH for 2 terms; and retiring as Director following 18 years of service to the Greater New York Chapter for the CF Foundation. In tribute to her many years of leadership and service, the CF Foundation has dedicated a major gift effort in her name known as the Doris F. Tulcin Major Gifts Society.
