Provide tailored HR services that align with the unique requirements and goals of each of the 10 divisions, ensuring responsive and specialized support for recruitment, staffing, and employee relations.
2. Enhance Talent Acquisition and Retention:
Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top-tier talent. Collaborate with leadership to create retention initiatives that foster long-term professional growth and job satisfaction.
3. Ensure Compliance and Best Practices in HR:
Maintain a strong understanding of legal and institutional policies, ensuring that all HR practices comply with federal, state, and university regulations. Promote fairness and transparency in all HR processes.
4. Foster a Positive Work Environment:
Cultivate an inclusive, supportive, and collaborative work environment across all divisions, prioritizing employee well-being and work-life balance. Provide resources for conflict resolution, performance management, and recognition of achievements.
5. Strategic HR Partnership with Leadership:
Collaborate with division and departmental leadership to align HR strategies with organizational goals. Offer data-driven insights and solutions to support decision-making in workforce planning, organizational development, and succession planning.
6. Optimize HR Technology and Processes:
Continuously improve HR processes and technology platforms to streamline operations, enhance service delivery, and provide real-time support for faculty and staff across all divisions.

Helpful Hints for DOM Junior Faculty
- Maintain Your CV – Keep it up-to-date in the required format. Standard SOM CV Format.
- Create Portfolios – Begin immediately, as soon as you are “on board”, to create and maintain portfolios for teaching, research and service. Document concurrently everything that you do – all activities. The Appointments, Promotions, and Tenure (APT) “package” should be built over several years. See SOM Promotion/Tenure Instructions.
- Critique APT Package – Have your APT “package” critiqued by several faculty members prior to submitting to the DOM APT Committee. Incorporate changes as needed.

Performance Evaluation
Managers and employees use performance management to monitor and evaluate job performance, define goals, create action plans, and celebrate achievement. People-centered performance management is a sequence of dialogues, coaching, and feedback fostering an atmosphere where employees can perform to the best of their ability, produce high-quality work, and grow their skills.
