We announced the launch of a new name and brand identity in fall 2021, which included a new logo, updated website branding, and various other brand updates. As a named medical school, we know our faculty and staff want to celebrate our identity, so we have provided the items and tools below to help you brand your marketing and communications appropriately.
Logos
There is a standardized UAB Heersink School of Medicine logo available in two formats–standard (left-aligned) and centered. Departments, divisions, sections, programs, and other units do not have unique logos and must use the Heersink School of Medicine logo. These units may use other solutions to identify their name on materials in text.

Digital Letterhead
Two digital letterhead options are available–a standard template and a department/unit template. These templates are intended for email and other digital applications only.

Email Signature
The email signature is a vital tool in presenting UAB as a unified brand, and consistency supports our message in internal and external email communications. Logos should not be added to email signatures.

PowerPoint Template
We will continue using the standard UAB PowerPoint template on the Brand and Communication Toolkit, which has a placeholder for the school name in the footer. In that placeholder, add "Heersink School of Medicine" as the school name. Once you have downloaded your preferred size and format, navigate to Insert > Header & Footer and apply the school name to all slides at the same time.

How to Add a Virtual Background in Zoom
Within your Zoom account, click “Settings,” then “Virtual Background.” From here, click the plus sign button to “Add Image.” Simply select the images you’ve downloaded to add to your virtual backgrounds in Zoom.
Stationery and Business Cards
Updated stationery and business cards can now be ordered from UAB Printing Services. It is not necessary to discard existing branded stationery and business cards–simply reorder with the new branding when you need to restock.
