Every year since 2003, our program has held a Chili Cook-off where food, drink, and good company are enjoyed by all. This year's Cook-off was held on Saturday, March 21st at Avondale Brewing Company, a popular local watering hole. Competition took place in both the chili and dessert categories, with roughly ten participants in each. Residents, faculty, and staff in attendance enjoyed the delicious chilis, including a white chicken chili made by first-year resident Katie Chitwood and a vegetarian chili made by chief resident Starr Steinhilber. Desserts included chocolate cayenne and salted caramel cake pops by PGY2 Sarah French and peanut butter and chocolate swirl brownies by second-year Liv Brown. In the end, senior Kevin Allen won the chili competition for the second time in his three years of residency by making a teriyaki chili with round steak and sausage. PGY2 Ginnie Prater took the dessert category with her mouth-watering praline cheescake squares. Special thanks to those who contributed their time and skills to make this year's Cook-Off a success! We're looking forward to an excellent competition again next year!
